Puppy Socialization
We utilize a hybrid of Avidog and Puppy Culture program and have noticed the positive impact it has had on our puppies. Puppies are afforded opportunities to learn and grow through various experiences, developing positive coping and problem solving skills. Our puppy parents see the benefit in happy, healthy and confident puppies. We strive to produce temperaments that are suitable for pet therapy and we have had multiple puppies go into service work. Puppies are always raised inside our homes as part of our families.
At approximately seven weeks old, puppies are temperament tested using the Volhard Puppy Aptitude Test. During our application and interview process, we discuss goals with our puppy parents. Combining our observations as the puppies grow, the results of the Volhard Puppy Aptitude Test and the goals of our puppy parents, we are able to match puppy's with their most suitable homes. Over the years this method has served us very well.
All of our puppies see a licensed veterinarian twice before going home. They will be up to date on all imminizations and are administered NeoPar, DHPP and Bordatella. Prior to going home, puppies will be up to date on flea/tick medication as well as heartworm preventative.
Puppies go on multiple socialization trips, meeting at least 100 new people prior to meeting their new people. We are thankful for our partners that allow us to visit them with the puppies. This is so important for their development! They are started on potty training and are introducted to crates, car rides, baths, velocity dryers, the Dremel and more.
If you are looking for the "whitest" puppy or the one with the "blockiest head," we are probably not the breeder for you. However, if you are looking for a puppy with a solid temperament from health tested parents and a breeder who will provide lifelong support, we would love to talk with you!
